With all the buzz of the iPhone and the new 3g iPhone set to be launched in June, a lot of people are asking what is 3g?
At a high level 3g is the third generation of wireless technology. 1G came out in the 1970's, 2G is what most of use use today, and 3G is beginning to become the standard. 3G offers significantly higher data speeds, from 384kps to 5 mb's making surfing the web much faster as well as opening up possibilities of mobile IM and video chat.
